Whether it’s from her own experience, or that of her friends, roommates or classmates, these are Jordyn’s top 25 student organizations that students should check out, if they’re kicking off the new school year looking for organizations to join.

African Student Association: “To unite students of African ethnic background, as well as those students interested in learning more about African culture.”
The African Student Association provides an outlet of diversity and inclusion on Rowan’s campus, for equal representation of all minority groups.

Anime Club is one of the highest performing clubs on campus, with a variety of students involved.
American Marketing Association: “To assist local businesses, attend chapter functions, provide professional development resources, and be proactive in local community service projects, fundraising, membership, and communication activities.”
I have friends that are a part of this organization, and it has enhanced their experience within their major and the William G. Rohrer College of Business.
Ballroom Club: “Aims to teach various dance styles as well as the beauty of the performing arts. We teach various styles of Ballroom, Rhythm, and Latin dancing.”
This club has greatly enhanced dancers’ training, giving them versatility and experience in another style. There is a credited ballroom dance course through Rowan’s College of Performing Arts available for students.
Biology Club: “Caters to the various directions of career advancement one can pursue with a degree or interest in Biological Sciences.”
I have heard positive things from biological sciences majors about this club, and how it provides them hands-on experiences in the realm of science.
Campus Players: “Dedicated to creating a safe, diverse, inclusive, and enriching environment where all members of our department are represented. Branching out of the Rowan University Department of Theatre and Dance, our team of players strives to represent all members of RUTD through our workshops, senior showcase in NYC, department events, and social media presence.”
I am a member of Campus Players, and it focuses on equal representation within the theater arts industry. It is entirely student run, with an E-Board of diverse backgrounds.
Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship: Helps connect people to God. “As followers of Christ, our life should reflect Jesus.”
My fellow Honors College BLAST mentor is a member of Chi Alpha, and this organization has greatly influenced her faith and trust in God.
Early Childhood Club: “A club dedicated to the education of young children, camaraderie, and fun! Students of all majors are more than welcome to join the Early Childhood Club.”
Early Childhood Club expands its doors to students of all majors with the passion of teaching younger generations.
Exercise is Medicine: “A global initiative sponsored by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). It is their vision to get university campuses and their surrounding communities active and healthy as a means to reduce dependence on traditional medicines.”
They work events around campus to give Health & Exercise Science majors a chance to practice their skills, while immersing themselves in the healthcare field.
International Club: “A cultural club for students from diverse backgrounds. We help international students adjust to a new environment and make meaningful relationships within the Rowan community.
Strives to create a positive and welcoming community of students from around the world that share one thing in common, coming to the United States to earn their collegiate-level education.
MEDLIFE Rowan: “To help families achieve greater freedom from the constraints of poverty, empowering them to live healthier lives.”
This organization works to benefit the lives of others in the community through healthy choices.
Music Therapy Club: “A club where people can meet to discuss, share, appreciate, and practice Music Therapy. This may include fundraising, community activities, or planning for conferences. Anyone interested is allowed to join, not just Music Therapy majors.”
I have friends in the music department in this club, and they have had a great time learning about how to integrate music therapy into their educational experience.
Neurodiversity Club: “We aim to help neurodivergent students become better self-advocates equipped to thrive in college and beyond, to educate the Rowan community about neurodiversity to alleviate the stigma, and to encourage students to use services that they are entitled to.”
A club that provides the opportunity for students to come together and end the stigma behind neuro-diverse students, giving them access to the services that they need to succeed in college.
Nutrition Care Club: “Promoting healthy living and providing networking opportunities for students in the nutrition and health promotion fields.”
Opens up opportunities for nutrition majors to create professional connections inside of healthcare.
Out in STEM: “OSTEM is a national organization that is dedicated to the inclusion and professional development for LGBTQ+ students and workplace professionals.”
Creates an accepting and welcoming environment for identifying LGBTQ+ students, and students who advocate for the community. Students come together to spread love and knowledge behind stem through this safe space.
Philosophy Club: “Meets biweekly to discuss a variety of philosophical topics. Past topics have included animal rights, the ethics of AI, the social contract, and the nature of knowledge.”
A beneficial club experience for students who have an interest in various types of ethics, logics, and perspectives on the world we live in.
Photography Club: “For people who want to share their work with others and learn how to improve upon their skills.”
I have heard nothing but positive things about this club, and how students photography skills have greatly improved.
Powerlifting: “A student organization comprised of both competitive powerlifters and recreational lifters who come together to become better athletes.”
Gives athletes the opportunity to take their weight-lifting training to the next level through weekly practices and powerlifting competitions.
Prism: “An educational student organization that provides awareness on the LGBTQ+ issues that concern members, the university, and its surrounding communities.”
Creates a welcoming space for members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community to safely express their thoughts, feelings and ideas.
Public Health Club: “To bring public health awareness to the campus of Rowan through educational events, speakers, and community involvement.”
A great addition for public health majors to expand their horizons within the medical field.
RU Dance Extensions: “Contemporary dance company that works to promote dance as art. Open classes are held every Friday from 2:00pm – 3:15pm in Wilson Hall.”
I am the current vice president of the organization. We provide various dance opportunities through open classes, company rehearsals, and performances. We are an audition-based company, which occur every September for the entirety of the academic year. Anyone is welcome to attend our open classes, whether you dance recreationally or pre-professionally.
RU Hoofer’s Club: “The official tap company on campus. Open classes are held every Friday from 3:30pm – 4:45pm in Wilson Hall.”
Another opportunity for dancers to get involved and keep up with their dance training. They offer open classes, tap workshops, and perform here on campus.
Sociology & Anthropology Club: “An organization that promotes intelligent discussions and questions about the world around us.”
Helps to enhance’s students knowledge of the world around them.
Student Alumni Association: “An undergraduate student group that aims to advance Rowan University through programs and initiatives that enhance the student experience, foster student-alumni relationships, build tradition, establish a spirit of loyalty to the university, and promote philanthropy.”
Gives alumni the chance to continue their involvement within Rowan University through building relationships with undergraduate students.
The SHOP Food Pantry and Resource Center: “Rowan University’s first ever on-campus food pantry and resource center available to students in need. With a particular focus on addressing issues of food insecurity, The SHOP offers a range of free and confidential support services that can connect students with appropriate campus and community resources.”
A generous resource provided by the University to help students experiencing food security, keeping students identity anonymous. Located in a new location this year, on State Street near Rowan Boulevard.
