Today we welcome Gianna LaMorges, who goes by Gigi, and will live on campus and study History in the fall. Gigi is from Wayne, NJ (Passaic County) and attends Wayne Valley High School.

Welcome to Rowan! Could you share with us one thing you are looking forward in college?

I’m looking forward to breaking out of my shell and becoming the best version of myself!

What is one hobby, activity, sport or club you were a part of in high school that you’d like to continue in college?

I’ve played softball my whole life and I cannot wait to continue my career at Rowan!

Is there anything you’re hoping to discover about yourself in college?

I’m hoping to discover a new sense of confidence and courage in myself in college. I want to see myself grow and progress!

What majors are you considering and why?

I’m going to be entering into the 5 year history education program and I could not be more excited for it! I’ve always known that I wanted to help people but I never knew how I could do that while also sticking with something I love, like history. I then realized that becoming a teacher would let me help kids and stay involved with history!

Did you tour Rowan or attend any virtual events?

Yes, I have toured Rowan both in person a few times and virtual once! Both visits were with the softball team and coaches.

Do you have advice for other high school seniors who haven’t committed to a school yet?

My advice would be to just relax. The college process is already very difficult and it doesn’t help when you put too much pressure on yourself to find the right school. When you find your new home for the next four, you’ll know!

What is one thing about Rowan itself that you liked?

I love the size and campus! It feels like a small town and I’ve always loved that feeling.

Like what you see?
