Saturday Morning Art (smART) is a program for students in kindergarten through eighth grade that offers art classes. The teachers are students from Rowan who create lesson plans for each week. Every Wednesday, there is a class specific to this program that helps Rowan students prepare for their Saturday morning classes and learn about art classroom etiquette.

Each teacher encourages creativity and uniqueness in students’ artwork. At the end of the semester, there is an art show for parents, family, and friends to attend to see what each student accomplished during their art classes. In this environment, everyone is learning and improving on their skills. The smART program brings the importance of art back into schools, so it doesn’t get overlooked.
