Rowan University recently hosted Open Doors Day, a banquet for students accepted into the College of Communication & Creative Arts. Prospective students and family members began their day with breakfast in the new High Street Art Gallery, followed by campus tours. Writing Arts, Communication Studies, Public Relations & Advertising, Journalism, Art and Radio, TV & Film intended majors disbursed into groups to catch a glimpse of their classrooms, meet the professors and discuss what is involved with each major.
“It was really interesting and neat to walk through a college campus. Everyone was super nice, the classes were cool, and it definitely helped me make a decision for where I want to go to college,” said Tali Chanah, a Collingswood, Camden County, native interested in obtaining a creative writing degree.
Matt Berrian, a Hillsborough, Somerset County, native also pursuing creative writing, said, “Rowan had a very welcoming environment. I like how this school cares about what the students do after they complete college. They are very accommodating in that way, so I feel like this a great place to go to college.”
Once students finished touring the classrooms and interacting with current students, admissions ambassadors led the students back to the Student Center where they met up with their families for a catered lunch. Student organization representatives from the public relations club (PRSSA), and Rowan Radio spoke with students about the many opportunities offered here on campus.
