Along with being Student Government Association (SGA) president, Arielle Gedeon is a junior Radio/TV/Film (RTF) major with double minors in political science and new media. The Galloway, NJ (Atlantic County) native lives on campus and, in addition to her role as SGA president, serves as president of the Lambda Rho Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
While there are a lot of women who inspire her, She spoke highly of Kathy Coulibaly who she met when she was 16 years old. Mrs. C. is an inspirational person and like a second mother-figure, not only to herself but her sister as well. She also mentioned another woman named Melanie Burney who first introduced her to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.Arielle and other SGA members talking about upcoming events that they are planning on campus.The most rewarding aspect of being SGA president for Arielle is helping the community to provide opportunities for others and to allow their voices to be heard. She also touched upon wanting everyone within her executive board to achieve their goals. Throughout her day, Arielle is constantly running from meeting to meeting interacting with different members of the college. She makes sure to go through her emails. Arielle also makes it a goal of hers to be at every meeting on time. She makes it a priority to connect with her fellow peers as well as developing a connection with her fellow SGA members who she sees as close friends.

Arielle wants others involved with SGA as she views it as a great place to really make a difference within the Rowan community. She also talked about how often you tend to work with people who may or may not agree with different aspects of what you are working on. By being in SGA, you learned to be able to have your own voice, ideas and the ability to lead while working with others and gaining a new perspective on a number of different ideas.
