Today we feature incoming transfer Alexis Daugett. Alexis is from East Windsor (Mercer County) and attended Mercer County Community College. She will be living off campus and studying RadioTV/Film.

Welcome to Rowan! Could you share with us one thing you are looking forward at Rowan University?

I am most looking forward to getting the chance to be out on my own and move closer to my career goals!

Is there anything you’re hoping to discover about yourself at Rowan?

I am looking forward to living in a new environment and meeting completely new people. I want to try to become more creative and positive as a person.

What majors are you considering and why?

My major is Radio, Television and Film. I choose this major because I love working behind the scenes and being a part of something larger than myself. One of my goals in life is to be able to make a positive change in the world, and I believe that becoming involved in the television industry is a great place to start.

Did you tour Rowan or attend any virtual events?

I took a private tour of Rowan. I think that the campus is extremely large and I may get lost a few times before I become acclimated to the new terrain.

Do you have advice for other transfers who haven’t committed to a school yet?

You are the one who decides how your future will turn out! The school is just a name, your hard work and perseverance is what will make you successful. Take your time looking at location, affordability, and what they are known best for. See what college will best help you achieve your goals!

What is one thing about Rowan itself that you liked?

The radio, television and film program.

Like what you see?
