Today we speak with freshman Jayshalie Jennings a Secondary Math Education major from Williamstown, NJ (Gloucester County). Jayshalie is a part of PROFFAMILY, a newly formed freshmen group focused on inclusion and fun.
What has your freshman experience been like so far?
It’s been very different just because we haven’t had the chance to come on campus as much or participate in different activities. But there have been a lot of things for us to do and get together online. I do not regret coming to school despite the difficulties with COVID.
How are you making friends?
A lot of social media and just finding people and just reaching out, seeing what you have in common and going from there. I’m a part of PROFFAMILY, which started this year.
What are you hoping to get out of your major?
I’m just really eager to finish and become a teacher. I’m really excited to work with students. I want to teach middle school and focus on Math. My mom is an accountant so I’ve always been really good with math.
