20 Minute Radius: Ice Skating in Philly

Thanks to Rowan After Hours (RAH) providing students with a free shuttle bus to and from Philly (almost) every Friday, I spent Rowan students posing on ice rink in Philly.my night attempting to learn to ice skate.

At the Rothman Institute Ice Rink, located at Dilworth Park in Philly, it only costs $10 to rent skates and $5 for admission into the rink. Throughout the holiday season the ice rink is surrounded by a cafe (which is perfect to warm up in after ice skating) and a holiday market featuring local artisans, designers, crafters, and confectionaries, where you can find unique presents.

Explore Dilworth Park and the rest of Philly through RAH’s shuttle! Check-in for the bus starts at 6:30 pm and leaves at 7:00 pm (it runs on a first-come, first-serve basis, so I suggest getting there a couples minutes early). Drop-off and pick-up points are the same location, so I’d recommend writing it down on your Notes app in your phone. There are two shuttles back to campus, 10:00 pm and 12:00 am, which gives you enough time to explore the city at your own pace.
