Why did you choose your major? I enjoy both business and sociology as a student I wanted to be well-rounded in both areas.

One reason why you chose Rowan? Rowan is close to home, yet still a good distance to city life (Philadelphia). Being close to the city was extremely important to me for networking, internships, auditions and possible job opportunities.

The Morning Ritual:

Roomates cat
Willow is always getting into trouble.

8am: Willow (my roommate’s cat) jumping on our bedroom door. A daily morning wake up call I never look forward to.

8:30: Running to the bathroom because I drank way too much water the night before. Screaming in agony because I accidentally opened my eyes while washing my face.

Dancing while eating breakfast because who doesn’t do a happy dance when you take the first bite in the morning.

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop (Monday-Thursday):

12:30: Class

I am currently taking seven (yes seven) classes. Believe it or not, I love going to my classes. They are super informative and keep me updated on what is going on in the world. Becoming a liberal studies major with a sequence in business and sociology was a great decision on combining many interests into one degree.

2:00: Work

I hop into my car and go to my first job of the day at Lindenwold High School. Here Istudent in dance play choreograph their fall plays and spring musicals. As much as I think that I am cool and hip the older I get the less informed I’ve become about current trends. The kids here help me stay young. I am forever grateful and absolutely love going.

(On Thursdays I usually go to Philly with my (business associate/ partner in crime/ bff/ daughter #dansemacabre) Mackenzie to work at our internship (EgoPo Classic Theater)

(On Fridays I go to Memorial Hall where I dance from 2 – 3:15 with Rowan University’s Contemporary Dance Company: Dance Extensions.)

6:00: Work prt 2

I arrive to my second job of the day, Fit to Dance Studios in Mullica Hill. Here I am a teacher’s assistant. Currently, I help students ages 3 – 6 get focused and ready to learn. As an aunt of 4 amazing nephews and nieces I can say that this is a highlight of my day.

Up All Night:

8:00: Dance

Once I am finished work I end up at 3D Dance Crew rehearsal. 3D stands for Dangerously Diverse Dancers. My roommates, Liz and Sarah, are the president and vice president of 3D so it is fun way to spend more time with them.

10:30: Bachelor and Popcorn

student sits doing homeworkWhen most people are starting to wind down and go to sleep, I am just getting started. My roommates and I sit down and watch one episode of The Bachelor, whilst eating ice cream or popcorn (depending on the day) and completing our homework. Even though I am extremely exhausted, I always look forward to it.

Weekends:

9am – 3pm: DExt

Since my freshman year my weekends have never changed. I wake up at 9 am to drive to Memorial Hall and to go to Dance Extensions rehearsal and dance until 3 pm. It is a great opportunity for me to further my education in dancstudent holding danse macabre postere. I absolutely love being apart of DExt, it has been by far the best decision of my college career.

3pm – 10pm: Rehearsal

I am currently in rehearsal for the Choreography Showcase that goes up on the Tohill Stage in April. I try to stay involved in theater and dance as much as possible here at Rowan. You may have seen me in a few productions such as the most recent Danse Macabre. The students and professors are so welcoming with non-majors. I consider the Department of Theater and Dance as a second home/family and will miss them after I graduate.

*AND REPEAT*
